warm, gooey and full of banana bread flavor this banana bread pudding is a fun and easy breakfast or dessert treat that is hard to resist! now i used to be so scared of bread pudding. so we had the pleasure of going to las vegas maybe about 4 years ago and we decided that we wanted to try one of the hotel buffets. so they had this simple norma bread pudding and i was like, you know what, i’m going to give this stuff a try. i like to have my bread pudding served warm, usually because i make a warm sauce that drizzles over the top. this banana bread pudding has all the flavors of your favorite banana bread but baked up in a 9″x13″ dish and drizzled with a easy and flavorful caramel sauce that is to die for. we also added some walnuts to this banana bread pudding recipe because i love nuts in my regular banana bread so serving this dish with a little crunch to every bite seemed like the easy and delicious choice, you know what i mean?! i had a larger loaf of crusty artisan white bread so added an extra egg and 1/2 cup more milk. i followed the recipe with ingredients i had on hand. lots of compliments, everyone asked for the recipe.
i made exactly by recipe and served warm with a tad of whipped cream on top. i replaced the walnuts with chocolate chips and the french bread with pepperidge farm honey wheat bread. i use the entire 24oz loaf while keeping all of the other measurements the same. i used a chocolate chip brioche bread, but otherwise followed the recipe to a t. it’s amazing! will i need to cook it longer? so thank you for putting this recipe out there it saved my hide and now i have a third dessert to serve at my restaurant. i cooked @45 min and it was great your proportions of milks to bread created a very moist, but not overly wet bread pudding. there was no need to top it with any sweet sauce, but i’m sure yours tastes great. i also will cook for less than an hour as it was a tad dry. my whole family loved it and it was gone by the end of the night. everything from desserts, easy dinners, comfort food and much more!
