this pie is my husband’s most requested berry dessert and i have been making one a week for him with our harvest!! i picked fresh blueberries this afternoon and was looking for a recipe when i found this one. three thumbs up from my husband and i and the 4 other people we shared it with! amazing recipe- and i’ll be making this many more times, i followed this exactly how it is written, and used frozen wild organic blueberries, not thawing as stated. i wondered if it came out to watery or you did anything else different to account for water? i keep looking online and in cookbooks for another pie i would be inspired by – but so far, i am still inspired by this one. my friend and i were sitting around feeling like we needed some pie, and i usually make a straight blueberry pie with a double crust. we liked that it was just the perfect amount of sweetness too. they can’t have a party because of the carona virus, so i’ll just drop it over to them. i haven’t veered from the blueberries but lots of readers have used raspberries and strawberries.

and good to know that you can make it in a graham cracker crust too! thank you for taking the time to come back and tell me you made it michey. i made the blueberry custard pie and added a dollop of whipped cream on each piece served. i am making this now but it is taking a lot.longer to cook then recipe said. this recipe looks divine and i can’t wait until blueberries in nj are in season!! the problem was that the holes poked in the crust for prebaking allowed the juices of the filling to leak under the crust, gluing it to the pie plate. i think next time i’ll butter the pan under the pre baked cooked crust to see if it prevents the finished pie from sticking to the pan 12 pies!! well you have to come back and let me know how the pie crust did with your adjustment, i would love to know! today i made this pie with an almond flour crust, and a monkfruit/erythritol sweetener. i look forward to making many of them in the future.
