bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes or until the edges of the cake just begin to turn golden. this made it taste just like the cheesecake had a bit of the crust on it. but they had a very poor texture, part creamy, part hard, and i ended up having to reblend the whole cooked cheesecake, which i then put back in the fridge. i had white chocolate on some of the cheesecake balls and milk chocolate on others, and my favorite was the white chocolate balls dipped in the raspberry preserves. it was quite messy and i was worried they wouldn’t turn out, but after a couple of hours in the freezer, they were so easy to decorate! it was still delicious, and i didn’t want it to go to waste, so i made these cheesecake pops! i made these for the sweets table at a graduation party.
i made these as a christmas gift for the cheesecake lovers in our family, and they love it! i baked the cheesecake according to instruction, and baked until the edge was beautifully golden, then cooled in fridge. next time i will use the stick, it will make it a heck of a lot easier to dip and roll – the toothpick method i used was tedious at best!! again these were amazing…but i mus say very time consuming, but so worth it in the end 🙂 i will upload a photo! i made these for my son’s bake sale for his class and they were a huge hit! the favorite was a chocolate coating rolled in coconut. just a tip – it’s best to dip the stick in a little of the chocolate before you put it in the cheesecake then put in fridge.
decadently rich, smooth and creamy cheesecake covered in luscious milk chocolate then drizzled with caramel and white chocolate. the daring bakers challenge for april 2008 was cheesecake pops chosen by elle of feeding my enthusiasms and deborah of taste and tell. the recipe makes a 10-inch cheesecake and it makes a lot of pops! these cheesecake pops were a big hit with my family and neighbors. in fact, my neighbor requested them for her birthday the following year, and ever year since that first year in 2008. since it was her birthday month again, i decided it was time to update the post with some better photos and share them again.
hi jaz – i haven’t tried them in a cake pop stand and would recommend you do a test run. if you’re serving them in a cake pop stand, you’ll want to decorate the bottom of the cheesecake pop instead of the stick side. i make some for a friend for her birthday and she hides them away in the freezer and just eats one occasionally. oh barbara…these cheesecake pops look awesome…i love the chocolate cover and the caramel drizzle…awesome! love the caramel drizzle on top.
