no waiting for butter to soften, no creaming, the batter is simple and quick to make. but in the cupcake world, i truly do believe these to be the best that can be for a simple no-standmixer, no creaming butter recipe. it’s my “go to”, the one i can make right now, without waiting for butter to soften, without pulling out my hand beater. but for the easy of this recipe, it is a very small price to pay. chocolate buttercream – i realise how ironic it is that i’d feature these cupcakes with tall swirls of buttercream frosting which calls for both softened butter and and stand mixer! vanilla buttercream – white frosting on chocolate cupcakes looks striking and makes for a lovely flavour combination! ???? also because i’ve done a video for that too – i didn’t want to cram it into the cupcake recipe video. subscribe to my newsletter and follow along on facebook, pinterest and instagram for all of the latest updates. ????????) i believe you can make great food with everyday ingredients even if you’re short on time and cost conscious.
hi nagi, because it’s the best ever chocolate cupcake, i hope to make them perfectly. xx nagi, i cook for a school canteen and i’m not allowed to use butter. i followed the recipe to the letter except i put in a tsp of instant coffee sifted with the cocoa in my second batch. i baked these as mini cupcakes, so i only baked them for 10-12 minutes, and they came out gorgeous! i’m going to make your secret, less-sweet fluffy vanilla frosting to go with these, and i can’t wait to see the end results! i’m making these for an upcoming birthday party, and they’re sure to be a hit! reason i’m asking is i have completely 100% unsweetened baking bars that i can melt down, but is that too much? there is sugar in the recipe and the frosting is sweet so you just have to make it and see if that brand is chocolatey enough for you! i appreciate all the testing you do to make the recipe perfect and know i can trust you to have the best version out there.
these chocolate cupcakes, from my best chocolate cake ever, are so quick and easy to make and always favorites! not just any cupcakes…but the best chocolate cupcakes. like my chocolate cake, they are the most moist, rich, and delicious chocolate cupcakes i’ve ever tasted. there are a couple of ingredients that make my cake – and these cupcakes – different and the best i’ve ever had. one of these is the boiling water. it will make the cake batter thinner compared to most other batters, but it results in a very tender and moist cupcake. to make the cake an egg-free chocolate cake recipe, use ⅓ cup of unsweetened applesauce in place of the large egg in the recipe. you will note that you may have to bake the cake just a few minutes more. i have tested the chocolate cake and cupcakes recipes with additional oils, as well as butter. while it does make the texture slightly different, it is still delicious and worth trying if you’d prefer to use butter in place of oils in your chocolate cake.
you have several delicious options when it comes to frosting for these cupcakes. to decorate the cupcakes, you have a few options as well. you can swirl the frosting on top of the cupcake with a spoon or spatula, place the frosting into a zip top bag and snip the corner to use as a quick frosting bag, or use a frosting bag fitted with a 1m tip (or open star). freeze the cake layers for up to one month. to frost the cupcakes, simply remove from the freezer and allow to thaw in the refrigerator. i like to store under a cake dome or in a cupcake carrier to keep fresh. amora, i haven’t added chocolate chips to this cupcake recipe however, when i added to the cake, the chips stuck to the bottom some have added chocolate chips to this batter with good results while others have had the chips just melt in the bottom of the cupcake. you might want to try my chocolate chocolate chip muffins. i’m not much of a baker and appreciated the precise instructions. i am saving it as my go-to cupcake standard.
