this homemade healthy peach cobbler recipe is super easy, gluten free, dairy free, and refined sugar free! while i love putting peaches in my smoothies, overnight oats, and other dishes, this healthy peach cobbler recipe is probably my new favorite way to enjoy this wonderful stone fruit. the biscuit dough in a traditional cobbler is usually made with white flour, butter, sugar, and heavy cream… not exactly healthy. the peach filling is soft, sweet, and much like pie filling with a lovely cinnamon aroma and taste. i’ve made a variety of crisps and crumbles on the blog in the past but this is my first official cobbler (i definitely misnamed a past recipe as a cobbler when it clearly was not, ha! i also love that this recipe is plant-based and works for those following a gluten free, dairy free, or vegan diet which is not a common thing that can be said about traditional desserts. tell me about it in the comments and be sure to pin the photo below the recipe to save this one for later and of course, share the love!
christal is the creator of nutrition in the kitch. i made this yesterday using buckwheat flour and grinding almonds into a flour. i used less coconut palm sugar and maple syrup just because the fruit is so sweet and we are quite happy with the results. my brother is allergic to almonds and want to make this for his bday because he’s on a diet! the only change i made was using real butter. i’m not sure if using real butter would change the texture of the cobbler patties. this was the perfect dessert for our “eating healthy” week!
this healthy peach cobbler can be made with fresh or canned peaches, and has a lovely biscuit topping! having a quick scan of various canned fruits, i was pleasantly surprised that a majority of them have zero added sugar and contain just one ingredient- the fruit itself! many brands of canned fruits contained syrups, sugars, and other additives which pretty much makes them as healthy as candy. i used to only make peach desserts during the warmer months when they were in season. these days, i make them year-round as canned peaches are easily available, and they contain no added sugar or syrups! it’s a fantastic dessert to make using fresh or canned peaches, and uses simple ingredients to make! what i love about this cobbler is that it’s both vegan and gluten free, so no one misses out! it’s sweet and full of peach flavor, and the buttery biscuit takes it to another level!
my friend mary had a healthy potluck dinner the other night and all her guests were vegan so i made this dessert and everyone begged me for the recipe- they couldn’t believe it was healthy and vegan! transfer the filling into a lightly greased baking dish and par-bake at 180c/350f for 10-15 minutes. add the remaining ingredients and mix together until a thick dough remains. scoop out portions of the biscuit dough and drop them on top of the peach filling. place back in the oven and bake for a further 15-20 minutes, until they have become golden brown. the big man’s world ® arman liew owns the copyright on all images and text and does not allow for its original recipes, pictures and content to be reproduced anywhere other than this site unless authorization is given. copying and/or pasting full recipes and pictures to social media or personal blogs is strictly prohibited. thanks for stopping by the big man’s world ®. my name is arman liew, and i’m stoked to have you here!
