i was going to remake and mix in the filling with the pears but was just too disappointed i just made this. thank you and now i am planning to trial a strawberry tart…. i added some almond liquor to the crumble for a little extra “something, something” and some fresh whipped cream. gone before the end of the day and so easy to make! if i make again i think cutting the sugar for filling to 1/3 cup would still easily work. a tad sweet so i will reduce the sugar-butter sprinkle to about half in future (used two-third this round). just made this because i got a box of fresh pears and did not know what to do with them. i did the crust and topping in the food processor which made it so easy. little house living participates in sponsored posts when we love the product and i do add in affiliate links to products that i use and love in my own home.
i was looking through the latest issue of cook’s illustrated and i came across a beautiful french apple tart. so i did make my french pear tart recipe. with your hands press dough down to spread on bottom and onto the rims of the pan. take a potato masher and mash the pears and fig reserves into a puree. return to oven and place on the top rack. i think i would try cooking the pears soft without the fig reserves first and then add them in afterward. i have not made this pie and frozen the whole thing, so i’m not sure how well it would thaw.
