of course we loved them because it meant sleeping in, hours of backyard shenanigans, pancakes, and an occasional soccer game or two, but, the kicker for saturdays was the saturday box. the saturday box was a parenting tool my mom and dad used to teach my siblings and me to put away our things. left out instead of put away in the closet or wherever their rightful place was, they would commandeer it and put it in a box. we learned pretty quickly that if we wanted our things we had better put them away where they belonged.
